Pool offers free admission for summer

Anyone wanting to take a dip this summer can enjoy a splash in the Washburn pool for free. The Washburn Park Board voted last week to waive all fees to use the pool, though the facility will accept free-will offerings from pool goers. Mark Lelm said the board wanted to ensure local kids had a way to enjoy the summer, despite COVID-19 restrictions, and that the pool hours were expected to be limited to start. “When we started out, we knew our hours and days would be limited for now, until we got a couple more lifeguards,” Lelm said.
“They thought it would be best to just open it up to the public.”
