Pfliiger makes Academic All-State
By Michael Johnson, Editor
Washburn senior MiKayla (Mickey) Pfliiger has her whole life ahead of her and she’s already off to a great start. The daughter of Scott and Stacey Pfliiger was recently chosen as a Class B Academic All-State honorable mention, a recognition made by the North Dakota Association of Secondary Principals. The Academic All-State honor starts with a nomination from the secondary principal of the school, in this case Glen Weinmann, for a student who excels in academics, volunteering and in activities in the school. Mickey has been active in volleyball and served as a team captain in the last season. She’s received Cardinal Spirit Awards for volleyball in sophomore and junior seasons. She remains a very active member of the Catholic faith and attends church most every weekend.
