PASSING THE TORCH

Fresh off being named Washburn Ambulance’s Squad Member of the Year, longtime EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) Gail Hendrickson recently announced she’s hanging up her flashlight and trauma shears, as she heads for the greener pastures of Bismarck.
The bubbly 70 year-old still has plenty of pep in her step, but at this stage the veteran philanthropist indicates that she’s ready to trade in her large home in Downtown Washburn for a smaller, low-maintenance condo in the big city about 40 miles south.
And though the 29-year EMT won’t be close enough to jump on any local ambulance runs, Hendrickson insists that her volunteering days are far from over.
