New group seeking name, board member

Washburn’s combined civic and economic development group is starting to take shape, as board members were selected and rough bylaws drafted Tuesday afternoon.
Now they just need a name.
A group of about a dozen Washburn residents gathered at Washburn City Hall Tuesday to check a few items off of the to-do list for a new community group, which will eventually replace WAEDA and Civic Club. Among those agenda items was the selection of preliminary board members and officers and reviewing early bylaws.
The attendees agreed to pursue a board with between seven and 12 members, and selected eight of the members during the meeting. The board consists of Tony Thoreson, Richard Perkerewicz, Claudia Scott, Chelsea Lazier, Sheila Hoffert, Rhonda Johnson, Mark Lelm and Donna Summer.
The group is seeking a ninth board member to complete the board.
