The Washburn Volunteer Fire Department got a major upgrade recently when its new pumper arrived on site, replacing an older firetruck that will be sold.
A shiny, new Rosenbauer FX pumper, with a 2016 M-2106 Freightliner chassis, finally arrived in Washburn Oct. 27, bringing with it the best and newest technology.
“It’s the best of the best,” Clayton Verke, Washburn Fire Chief said.
Clayton noted the ease of use, speed and capabilities of the new truck.
“We’re going from minutes to seconds when it comes to having water going,” Assistant Fire Chief Travis Verke said, explaining that the truck’s simple controls made it a quick process to get water, or foam, spraying from hoses.
