New faces: Washburn commissioners take oaths

Joan Zimmerman is Washburn’s new city auditor, stepping up into the role vacated by Milissa Price, who resigned in May.
Zimmerman was appointed to the position by commissioners at their special reorganization meeting on Tuesday, June 24.
The city plans on hiring a deputy auditor, as the position is now vacant.
Commissioner Kit Baumann rescinded his resignation from the previous meeting, after learning it’s not official unless in writing, per North Dakota Century Code. Baumann’s resignation was verbal, rather than in written form.
Convening around the board room table were several new faces, at least "new" to the commission, as they are well-known in the community.
