McLean County law enforcement, additional first responders partake in active shooter simulations

McLean County’s latest active shooter drill — held at Turtle Lake-Mercer High School on May 18 — saw first responders successfully complete a series of test runs involving civilian rescues resulting from a school edifice being under attack.
Supervised by Law Evaluator Mike Ferguson of Grand Forks, members of the McLean County Sheriff’s Office were instructed on how to move quickly and effectively in a scenario where the lives of hundreds of people could potentially be at risk.
