‘Once an Eagle, always an Eagle’

Two Washburn brothers recently earned the highest advancement rank in boy scouting, an honor only one percent of scouts achieve in their lifetime – Eagle Scout Rank.
Parker and Patrick Pochant, seniors at Washburn High School, were recognized during a Coat of Honor ceremony on Sunday afternoon.
During the formal ceremony, scout leader Geremy Olson lit a candle and said, "This candle represents the spirit of scouting."
As he read off the Boy Scout Law, Olson used the first candle to light off an additional dozen, each representing a trait expected of an honorable scout.
Those 12 candles represented trustworthiness, loyalty, helpfulness, friendliness, courtesy, kindness, obedience, cheerfulness, thriftiness, bravery, cleanliness and reverence.
