‘Bluegrass Goes Pink’ does it again

Bluegrass Goes Pink filled Cross Ranch State Park with harmony and bluegrass fans last Saturday. An estimated “well over 300” attendees -- including 50 for the 5k fun run/walk and event volunteers -- joined together to raise funds to fight cancer and remember this year’s honorees, Aggie Aman, Joanne DuToit, Nikki Daub, and Myla Wescom, four women who fought the good fight but lost their battles with cancer.
“Everyone really enjoyed the wagon rides, they were a treat,” event organizer Jill Weise said of the new addition, volunteered by Cross Ranch employee Jesse Hanson. “Jesse brought his team and his daughter, Jenny, a seasonal employee at the park, drove the horses.”
Final numbers not yet in, but Wiese hopes to continue the trend of clearing more than $5,000 to donate to Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation.
“All event proceeds go to the foundation,” Wiese said, adding, “We’re so thankful for our sponsors, Great River Energy, Bismarck Cancer Center, Sanford Health, Cross Ranch State Park, Cotton Wood Bluegrass Band, and the Washburn churches for donating all the food.”
