Local canines on display at Washburn Fall Festival

Following last year’s trial run of afterschool gatherings, the Washburn Student Council has recently decided to host Game Night twice a month for junior high and high school students looking to kick back with their peers and school staff.
And while the leisurely get-togethers officially kick off in concert with homecoming festivities on Oct. 1, the scheduled club meets will run every second and fourth Wednesday of the month, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. throughout the academic year.
“It’s a group of people making sure they have something to do after school if they don’t want to go home,” said Washburn Student Council President and high school student Cassidy Sommer.
