Jordan named superintendent

A former Miner principal will be returning to Wilton Public School in July, this time as the new school superintendent.
Andrew Jordan has signed his contract to take on the Superintendent role at Wilton Public School, with his first day slated for July 1. Jordan served as the school’s secondary principal from 2013 to 2016 before taking a position as superintendent of New Salem-Almont Public Schools starting in 2016.
Jordan was one of five candidates interviewed for the superintendent spot last week, with the Wilton Public School board making a decision during a special meeting late Tuesday evening. The board agreed to offer Jordan the position, given he could get out of his contract at New Salem-Almont.
Current superintendent Amanda Meier confirmed Monday that Jordan signed his contract with Wilton and will be starting July 1. Meier, who worked with Jordan during the 2015-16 school year, said she was pleased with the board’s choice.
“I am very thrilled to hand the reins over to Mr. Jordan,” Meier said. “He is a great fit for Wilton Public School.”
Meier announced in April that she would be stepping down after three years at the school and one year as superintendent, saying she has taken a principal position in Mandan.
