Grubbs moved out, not gone for good
By Michael Johnson, Editor
Their new home is in Mandan, but the hearts of the Grubb family remain in Washburn. The family of six including Nathan and Andrea and their children – Brittan, 13, Aaron, 10, Reagan, 4, and Macy, 1, have been a big part of the community and hope to remain that way while living in Mandan. Nathan and Andrea have lived in the home that is attached to the Washburn Goetz Funeral Home since 1998, the same year they were married. The Grubbs have owned the Goetz Funeral Homes in Washburn, Underwood and Turtle Lake since 2003. Three weeks ago they were completely moved into their new home to allow for a new employee, Paul Sannes and his family to move in and work out of the funeral home in Washburn. At this point Sannes is an employee of Goetz Funeral Home. The Grubbs have sold no interest of the business. Nathan said the family made the move because they had grown out of their three bedroom home attached to the funeral home. They started looking for homes in Washburn, but with most of Nathan’s family living in Bismarck, with many of the kids’ activities in Bismarck, with Andrea working out of Bismarck and with future management prospects in the Bismarck-Mandan area, the family realized that living in Mandan might not be such a bad idea.
