All history buffs, music lovers, food fanatics and the general public are welcome to come out and enjoy a day in the newly expanded Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and Fort Mandan in Washburn, Saturday and Sunday. Entrance into the sites is free all weekend, thanks to Great River Energy.
Saturday starts out with the main event, a dedication ceremony at 10 a.m. in the new event center. Come on in and see the new expansion and hear from local and state leaders about the importance of this facility to the state and country.
North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem, Foundation president David Borlaug, and Dakota Institute director Clay Jenkinson will be among dignitaries speaking at a formal dedication.
Following the dedication, head to Fort Mandan to enjoy food from Brothers Smoked Barbecue food truck and free music from noon to 5 p.m. Performances start with Matt Schanadore at noon and Chuck Suchy at 3 p.m.
