Establishing a set of new goals

Where there are problems there should be solutions. What should those solutions be?
Are there problem lowland areas? Would elevating roads or improving drainage work? Are there flooding issues in McLean County communities? Would upgrading municipal storm water management infrastructure alleviate the problem?
If there were severe summer weather, would a reverse 911 program for cell phones be beneficial that would alert the public? Should additional warning sirens be added, or existing ones replaced?
This past week, stakeholders from around the county and region met for the second round of talks to update and fine-tune the county’s Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The goal is to provide enough information that will enable facilitators to update and fine-tune the county’s Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. The meeting was a work night to review mitigation actions in the current plan, sifting through those actions, discarding those that are now irrelevant and adding new action goals.
Facilitator Andrew Theirolf thinks the meetings are going well.
"We’ve had great participation so far. I’ve really been impressed with the participation from local businesses and large companies that operate within the county. There’s a real opportunity for some public-private partnerships to help address some hazards in the county such as hazardous materials release and wildfire.
