Districts find new ways to combat teacher shortage, competition
As job applications for central North Dakota schools decline, administrators are getting creative in order to ensure spots are filled come August.
“We have been hit significantly with a lack of applicants for open positions the past two cycles of job openings,” said Center-Stanton Public School Superintendent Tracy Peterson.
Located in one of the state’s least populous counties, Center-Stanton has to fight to recruit candidates also being
fielded by larger and more urban districts.
