Deacon Nistler retires after 10 years in Wilton

An open house retirement celebration was held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wilton Sunday, May 2, from 2 to 4 p.m., for Jim and Henrietta Nistler. The church hall was filled with people offering their support, visiting, and feasting on many different foods. Many congregation members said the Nistlers will truly be missed, as they have done so much for the church and the community. A photographer from the Bismarck Diocese was taking pictures of the Nistlers with some of their children, along with several of the congregation members. In July the Nistlers will say good-bye to their life in the ministry. After raising their eight children, Jim felt the need to enter into the ministry after he saw the way his younger brother and other perish men in his congregation at St. Patrick’s in Dickinson made a difference in people’s lives in so many ways.
