Commission approves city plan, modifies ordinance

The Washburn City Commission met on Nov. 18. where Jasper Klein, engineer, proposed a city plan to improve streets and the sewer system. It is estimated that the project will cost about $80,000 and will begin in spring 2014. Other highlights include:
Renewal for liquor licenses were granted to Unistop, Lewis and Clark Saloon and the Legion.
The 2014 election dates and voting location was approved, no changes in date or location were made for this voting session.
Schwan’s Home Itinerant License was approved. The business will now be selling their products door to door.
Approval following the moving ordinance #128 to move two trailers into the city’s trailer courts.
