In an effort to reach a goal of collecting 50,000 pieces this year, Farmers Insurance of Bismarck is turning to surrounding communities to donate suits for soldiers returning to the workforce.
The project, named Suits for Soldiers, is taking place nationwide, with Farmers Insurance branches accepting donations of gently-used suits. The clothing will be dry-cleaned and donated to service members who are transitioning back into the workforce and needing professional clothing.
Hope Kondracki, an account executive at Farmers Insurance in Bismarck and resident of Washburn, is currently collecting suits from residents in the area.
“They can call me and I’ll come pick them up,” Kondracki said of anyone around Washburn who wants to donate used mens or womens suits.
So far, Sarah Volk of the Bismarck office, who has helped spread the word about the project, says there has been a great turnout this year.
