With more services going online, the Wilton City Commission is looking into adding a new option for its utility bill statements for residents.
“We can add a feature onto the utility billing so I can email the bills instead of having to mail them,” Wilton auditor Pattie Solberg said.
Solberg said it costs $1,000 for initial setup, with a $100 annual renewal fee for the service.
“To break even on the annual fee, with just saving our postage, 25 people have to sign up for this,” Solberg said.
Commissioner Joel Middaugh said he didn’t think that number would be hard to reach, with many younger residents option for online billing when it comes to their other subscriptions and services.
“I think you’d get it, easy,” Middaugh said.
