Cardinals Shine Bright In Win

Coming in with a record of 4-5, the Washburn Cardinals volleyball team looked to get back to .500 with a win over Hazen. In the opening set, Hazen hung around with the Cards, but Washburn pulled away just in time to win 25-20. Sydney Schmit was the star for Washburn with six kills, five aces and five digs. The senior outside hitter had some great plays in the second set to help her team extend the lead. Monica Goven also had a solid stat line Thursday night. The junior middle blocker had 12 kills to go along with two blocks.
