Bluegrass Festival returns

For the 26th year in a row, the Missouri River Bluegrass Festival is coming to Cross Ranch State Park to celebrate a love for classic American music.
Concerts will run June 17 and 18 at the state park, located along the Missouri River just south of Washburn.
"The concerts begin on Friday night at 6:30, with four bands performing," festival organizer Jill Wiese said. "Flea Bitten Tramps from Bismarck at 6:30, Cotton Wood at 7:30, The High 48's from Minneapolis at 8:30 and Gold Heart from Virginia at 9:30."
Saturday features an open stage for two hours, from 10 a.m. to noon, where any attending musicians can perform.
"There are many musicians that attend this festival and this is a great time for them to perform and gather other musicians to play and make up a band," Wiese said.
At 1 p.m. Saturday, the Center Community band and Pfliger Sisters will start playing on stage. At the same time, a workshop for learning a bluegrass song will be held by the High 48’s and Gold Heart.
