The Washburn High School Women’s Ensemble brought their voices together this week, while still keeping their distance. Ten members of the women’s choir put together a
virtual ensemble this month by recording their own voice clips, which were then woven together by their instructor. Music teacher Dustin Moe said the project started when
each of the ten girls were emailed the music for “The Snow Begins to Fall” by Andy Beck. “Then the only request was that they had to sing their part by themselves and email it back to me,” Moe said. This group was an already established ensemble, Moe said, adding that the group would have competed at the small group festival this spring if it had not been canceled. Moe said the girls could only hear the piano and didn’t hear the other choir members’ parts until the whole piece was put together.
