Upon recently completing her clinicals with Washburn’s Michele Leidholm, little did Amy Gotvaslee know her nursing career would bring her back to the rural community.
On July 7, she walked through the front door of the Washburn Family Clinic Primecare, a newly-laminated name tag pinned to her colorful scrubs. It reads, "Amy Gotvaslee, Family Nurse Practitioner."
After years of hard work and studying, she said she feels excited to return to Washburn, with the staff at the clinic making her feel right at home.
She said, "I’ve had a really good experience with my new co-workers. They’ve all been very welcoming and good at answering questions and helping me along the way."
Growing up in Fargo, Gotvaslee graduated from Shanley High School in 2002.
She attended the University of Mary, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2006, a master’s degree in business and healthcare in 2009 and obtained her nurse practitioner’s license in 2014.
