AMERICAN HERO
Former Washburn resident Jack Wiese is one of the few remaining World World II veterans among us. The decorated serviceman was stationed in the Philippines as a member of the U.S. Navy. The 94-year-old is currently residing in a nursing home in New Salem. (Photos courtesy of Jill Wiese)
