Washburn wins in Zach v. Zach battle

It was a "Zach attack" times two last Tuesday as Washburn’s Zach Schell and Underwood’s Zach Cottingham led their respective teams up against each other in District 10 boys’ hoops action.
It was Washburn’s Schell that spearheaded the win for his team, as the Cardinals’ big man tossed in 20 points for the Red Birds their way to a 70-56 win.
Underwood’s Cottingham led all scorers with 22 points, but the Cardinals were able to turn a second-quarter run into the win.
After leading by just one at the end of the first quarter, Washburn outscored the Comets 19-10 the second stanza to take a 28-20 lead into the half, a lead they would never relinquish.
