Troop outlasts Cougars for ‘10’ title

The Garrison Troopers wiped out a 10-point 13-23 lead in the second quarter of Monday night’s District 10 championship, taking the tournament title by the score of 62-57 over the Central McLean Cougars.
Trailing by 10 midway through the second stanza, the Troopers capitalized on three “and ones” and a bucket underneath to take a 24-23 lead with 3:14 remaining in the first half.
The Troop kep t the momentum going into the third stanza, leading by as much as 39-32 before the Cougars took the lead with about two minutes remaining on a Troyna shot from underneath following an offensive board.
