Trojans reach Region 5

The Trojans made it back to the Region 5 tournament with a 3-1 win over the Washburn Cardinals in a play-in match on the Trojans’ home court Thursday night.
The Trojans were pitted against the Cardinals after being defeated by the Miners from Wilton/Wing 3-0 on Tuesday night.
The Trojans were set to play the first match of the Region 5 tournament on Monday against the number one team Center/Stanton.
Against the Miners, the Trojans took an early 2-0 lead after an ace from Miya Smalls. But, from there, the Miners gained a slim lead and held it until a 5-0 burst gave them a 20-11 lead.
The set ended at 25-15 with a kill from Tara Binstock.
The second set saw the Miners lead from the beginning to end, as the Trojans were totally out of their game.
