Trojans 4th at Mandan Tournament

The Trojans settled for fourth place at the Mandan Holiday Tournament this past week.
After a good first game defeating Grant County 64-51, the Trojans dropped the semifinal game 44-29 to New Salem/Almont. In the third-place game, the Flasher Bulldogs defeat the Trojans 66-38.
Trapper Jacobs was placed on the All-Tournament Team along with Warrick Dilse, Hettinger-Scranton; Jaron Reis, Flasher; Tate Dickson, Wilton/Wing; Taydon Soupir and Evan Henke, New Salem/Almont, Ethan Hoffman, Grant County; Ethan Hahn, Bottineau; Matthew Reep and Jaden Mitzel, Bismarck Shiloh Christian.
The Trojans’ first game against Grant County saw four lead changes the first quarter. The Coyotes took the lead, 14-13, at the end of one with a 5-0 run the last two minutes of the quarter.
Second-quarter action saw triples from Trapper Jacobs and AJ Ketterling late in the quarter as the Trojans held a 25-23 lead at the half time break.
Third-quarter action saw the Coyotes with a 10-2 run to take a 33-27 lead at the 5:33 mark. But, the Trojans finished with a 14-4 run to lead at the end of three, 44-39.
