Snowshoeing - a walk above the rest
By Michael Johnson, Editor
Some would describe snowshoeing as an outdated form of recreational entertainment. For Audubon Wildlife Refuge visitor manager Jackie Jacobson, snowshoeing is an ever-popular sport that any age group can enjoy as long as there is enough snow to do so. Since this is North Dakota, finding enough snow is rarely a problem. Over a dozen healthy folks from age 8 to 84 ventured out on Sunday to enjoy some snowshoeing. The cost was free and while some brought their own shoes, the Refuge had a selection of various sizes and styles of snowshoes available for the class to use.
