Skyhawks top Trojans 3-1

The Bismarck Shiloh Christian Skyhawk defeated the Trojans 3-1 in Region 5 volleyball action last Tuesday night on the Trojans’ home court.
The Skyhawks raised their region record to 7-2 and are in second place in the region. Flasher is tops in region 5 with a 9-0 record. The Trojans fall to 1-8 in region play and 6-20 overall.
The Trojans travel to Wilton/Wing for the final regular season match on Nov. 5. The Trojans will have a region play in match Nov. 7, with the opponent yet to be determined.
Sophie Sparrow led the Trojans with eight kills, two aces and two blocks. Ashley Bergquist and Miya Smalls each had 19 digs and Madison Boehm 22 assists.
Graycin Wanzek led the Skyhawks with 20 kills and 5 aces. Kelsey Mischel had 26 assists and Gabby Kraemer 36 assists.
The Trojans jumped to an 8-3 lead in the first set with Sophie Sparrow getting two aces and a kill and Amy Klain put down back-to-back kills but that lead slowly evaporated as a kill from Maddie Nelson tied the score at 11.
