Seniors leading Comets run for regionals

The Underwood Comets were dealt a serious blow to their lineup before the season even started this year as a senior guard suffered a football- and basketball-season-ending knee injury during a football game.
Second-year head coach Alex Jangula is determined not to let the loss of a key veteran player impact the Comets – too much.
“We have a lot of experience coming back,” said Jangula. “We do have to figure out how to replace Zach. He just did everything for us. That’s a big hole to fill, but we’re looking fairly good with senior leadership.”
Leading the way with that senior leadership are returning senior guards Parker Heger and Darin Eichhorst.
“They’re going to have to step up their handling the ball,” said Jangula. “And we’ll probably be looking at Bo (Weisenberger) to fill in the point guard role.”
Posting up inside will be seniors Marshall LeRoy and Nevada Sorensen, both three-year starters for the Comets.
