Seidler says championships sweeter each year
Underwood’s Marlyn Seidler claimed yet another IMCA Championship at Mandan’s Dakota Speedway on Friday night. Seidler sealed the deal with a feature win and a 15-point season finish ahead of runner-up Mark Dahl. Winning championships isn’t becoming old hat to Marlyn Seidler, far from it he says; at age 55 each one is a little sweeter. Seidler is quick to point out, “there isn’t a lot of grey hair in the pits.” Seidler has enjoyed success in his racing career, in fact more victories than he can remember. In recent years he was track champion at Dakotah in ‘04, Minot’s Nodak in ‘05 and in ‘06 claimed titles at both tracks and added a championship at Southwest Speedway in Dickinson, for three titles in one year. He repeated as champion in Minot and Dickinson last year and was runner-up at Mandan in both ‘05 and ‘07. A championship this year in Dickinson was not to be, as schedule changes conflicted with Minot races.
