Returners, good numbers strengths for Cougar ‘ballers

If the weather holds true to the forecast, the Central McLean Cougars should be playing their first regular season with a grass outfield unblemished by recent snowfall this Monday, with a pleasant 50+ degree temp.

The Cougars, who fell just short of advancing to the state tournament last season, have intentions of making it to the big show this year.

"Last year we were three runs from playing in the state tournament," said Cougar Head Coach Kyle Hunt. "So talking with the girls, that’s obviously our number one goal – to get to the state tournament."

Top returners for the Cougars include senior multi-tasker Tatum Fylling, fellow senior first-base player Trista Crimmins and junior catcher Danielle Halstead.

Leading the way from the hill are returnees junior Zoey Smalls and Maria Wirtz.
