Opener wrapped up with a Bo-Ty

Some basketball teams live and die by the three-pointer.
Monday afternoon, the Underwood Comets were livin’ large thanks to the three, as they knocked down 10 long bombs on their way to a 74-60 rout of Grant County. When they weren’t livin’ large with the trey, they were still livin’ big as junior post Parker “Biggie” Christenson scored 15 of his 19 points the second half.
Five different players scored from long range for Underwood, as the Comets hit six of 14 three-point attempts the first half, forcing the Coyotes to defend against the bomb. That did little to help as the Comets increased on their 34-27 half-time lead, going ahead by as much as 19 points early in the fourth stanza on the wings of eight Kayden Hornberger points the third quarter.
Underwood Head Coach Alex Jangula credited the team’s moving the ball around with the win.
“Great ball movement was key,” he said. “We made a few outside shots right away which opened up some post touches in the second half for Biggie.”
