The Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season in Monday night’s opener, knocking off Standing Rock by the score of 49-38.
Not a bad start for first-year varsity coach Wes Jacobson and his young group of Trojan cagers.
The Trojans have just one senior on the roster, guard Morgan Reiser, who is expected to be a leader on the floor for the Trojans.
“She was a real leader for us (against Standing Rock),” said Jacobson. “She’s an all-out play-maker. She can take something that looks like nothing and turn it into a positive.”
Another key returner for the Trojans will be Sophie Sparrow, also a guard.
