The Underwood Comets upped their district volleyball record to 4-0 Monday night after a hard-fought win over key district rival Wilton by the score of 3-1. In earlier action this past week, the Comets easily handled a visiting Center-Stanton team 3-0 in Underwood.
Monday night, the Comets faltered early as they watched their convincing lead get wiped out in game one as the Miners rallied to take the first set 25-21.
But that was all the Miners would take from the Comets as Underwood won the next three games, battling point-for-point in the final set before winning by the score of 29-27.
Despite the loss in game one, the Comets were never worried about the final outcome agreed co-captains Abby Landenberger and Taylor Dammann.
