Missed freebies prove costly in title game

Ya gotta knock down the freebies.
That sums up Underwood Coach Jared Kautzman’s evaluation of his team’s 56-40 loss to Garrison Saturday night.
The Comets made less than half of their free throws in Saturday’s title game against the Troopers, making good on just 12 of 31 attempts at the charity stripe.
“Missed free throws,” was Kautzman’s answer when asked what the key to Garrison’s win was.
“And we turned the ball over,” he added. “We tried to do too much, tried to force things -- and they got after us.”
Underwood turned the ball over 20 times as Garrison’s hustle defense plagued the Comets, while the Troopers gave it back 10 times.
