Miners, Wildcats turn back Comets
The Comets dropped a pair of Region 5 matches this week, dropping their regional-play record to 3-5 as they played without three starters who were sidelined due to quarantine.
With starters Bailey Gross, Ari Hornberger and Lilly Eng out for a few games, the Comets looked to other players to pick up where the starters left off.
“Being our first game back, I thought we had some stretches of play that showed determination and grit, especially since we have some different faces in our line up,” commented Underwood Coach Jordyn Singer. “I thought the girls stepped up and adapted well to where they were needed on the court.”
