MEOW -- Cougar girls outclaw Tigers, ‘Dawgs

The Cent ral McLean Cougars sharpened their claws to start out 2021, bumping off the Flasher Bulldogs by the score of 57-45 Saturday night before following up with a 67-40 thrashing of the New England Tigers Monday in Underwood.
Both outings saw Central McLean’s dynamic duo of Ashtyn Smith and Taya Hornberger dominate the scoreboard, with Smith scoring 19 in each game, and Hornberger tossing in 20 and 16 points.
Smith was uncharacteristically quiet the first quarter against Flasher, but hit her stride when the
second quarter rolled around. The 5-4 sophomore guard scored six points in the second stanza then tossed in 10 more in the third.
