‘We’ve dreamed about this since we were little’
As the CMC girls basketball team heads into the regional tournament, seniors Daisy Sparrow, Ashtyn Smith and Taya Hornberger reflect on their high school basketball careers, the team’s success this season, and post-season ambitions. “We’ve dreamed about this since we were little,” Hornberger said. “This is the year to make it happen. ”Teammate Ashtyn Smith shared the same sentiment. “ We’ve been playing together since second grade and we’ve always dreamed of this together,” Smith said. “We’ve worked hard, and we are definitely capable of going to state this year.” Senior Daisy Sparrow, the only player from TL-M, says although playing in a co-op program took some getting used to, she is happy with how it turned out.
