Lady Comets open season at shoot out

Heading south to Linton for season opening games has become an annual event for the Comet girls’ basketball team. The Shoot Out brings in some really strong teams and this year was no exception. The Shoot Out gives the girls a chance to play a double header over the weekend. This year the Comets played a tough Linton Lady Lions team and the team from South Border. Both teams, from the same district, came out strong and made it tough for the Comets to find the hoop. Head Coach Toni Cottingham commented, “We are a young team and gained valuable game experience during these two days.” She added, “We learned a lot and will be a better team because of the competition we played.”
