Joi Anderson returns as Cougars head coach

The Central McLean Cougars boys basketball team will return for the 2021-22 season with a new, not so new, head coach. Joi Anderson has returned to the court after a year off during the co-op transition. Central
McLean is in the second year of the Underwood-Turtle Lake-Mercer Co-op. Anderson brings 18 years of varsity level coaching and seven years of junior varsity experience, all previously with the Turtle Lake-Mercer school.
Coach Anderson, with his experience adjusts his coaching style to the players he has available.
“I basically watch the kids and see what they can do,” Anderson said. “If we have kids we can run with, we
will run. If we don’t, we’ll slow things down and use the 35-second clock.”
