Grant County ousts Comets

The Underwood Comets saw their dreams of competing at the state volleyball tournament in a couple weeks come to an end at the hands of Grant County Monday night, as Grant County downed the Comets 3-0 in first-round action of the Region 5 volleyball tournament in Bismarck.
Taylor Roehl tallied a team-high 18 kills and 17 digs for Grant County, while Mackenzie Snyder’s six kills and McKenna Wilson’s 10 digs led the Comets.
The Coyotes dominated the first and third sets, wining 25-11 and 25-13, but the Comets were able to get more offense together in the second set, eventually falling by the score of 25-20.
The Coyotes’ win set the stage for a semifinal match against top-seeded Center-Stanton Tuesday night, while hosting Shiloh was set to take on Garrison-Max in the other semifinal match.
