Getting’ it done on Frey-day

The Central McLean Cougars pretty much “out-everythinged” the Lewis and Clark Bombers Friday night on the Cougars’ home field in Underwood as they rolled to a 60-win after playing just one half.
The Bombers entered the game with just 11 varsity players, noted Cougar Co-Coach Kevin Dockter, and when a couple of them got banged up early in the game, the Bombers asked if the game could be called at the half.
“We’re fortunate we’ve got good numbers and good depth – they were dinged up, they requested (to call it) – it was the right thing to do,” said Dockter.
The Cougars outnumbered, outran, out-passed, outweighed, and outlasted the Bombers easily, scoring five touchdowns in the first stanza of the game – the biggest score coming from a 60-yard break-away scamper by senior QB Ty Snyder.
Snyder scored two touchdowns that stanza, while fellow senior teammate Kayden Hornberger scored a pair of his own on six and two-yard runs. Fellow Senior Nathan Sims also added six points, scoring on a 29-yd pass from Snyder, giving the Cougars a 36-0 edge at the half.
