First meet shows promise for girls golf
By Michael Johnson, Editor
Six members of the Central McLean Cougars golf team traveled to the Region 4 meet in Velva April 28. Of the six golfers, three were first-timers. Ten schools from the Region were there to compete and 48 golfers participated. The girls coach Toni Cottingham saw some good results from the girls, despite the poor weather conditions they have been facing. “I was pleased with our effort at our first meet of the season,” Cottingham said. “The weather has not been very cooperative for spring sports, so I was thrilled with the weather we were given on Thursday.”
