First golf meet a whirlwind
By Mary Hefta, Sports Writer
The Central McLean Girls Golf team had their first meet April 13 in Hazen and other than some rough weather it was a good chance for the girls to get out. Head girls golf coach Toni Cottingham commented on the weather. "The weather conditions were brutal (45 mph winds and rain), but the girls were excited to be able to get out on the course and play." There were 44 total golfers at the tournament in Hazen and freshman Sam Cottingham placed 12th overall. When asked about the results, Cottingham was pleased. "Considering the weather and that it is early in the season, I was very pleased with the way the girls played."
