Cougars to face Skyhawks

Central McLean heads deep into Shiloh territory this Friday night, taking on the reigning 9-man champions on the Skyhawks’ home turf in Bismarck.

That comes after the Skyhawks pummeled Linton-HMB 48-18 this past Friday, and the Cougars knocked off a visiting Kidder County 20-16 using a fourth-quarter 70-yard TD pass to erase a 16-12 Pirates lead.

Central McLean’s Blake Anderson reeled in a 70-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Hunter Jacobs for a homecoming-game-winner midway through the fourth quarter.

That reception wiped out the Pirates’ 16-12 edge and accounted for nearly half of the Cougars’ passing yards for the game.

Jacobs and the Cougars amassed 149 yards in the air, as the senior quarterback made good on 6 of 18 passes for 149 yards.

Jacobs also did some damage on the ground, leading the Cougars’ running game with 81 yards on eight carries, including a 30-yard jaunt into the end zone midway through the second stanza to put the Cougars up 12-0.
