Cougars put on top performance

The state track meet is always an exciting time for track and field athletes and this year was no exception. The Central McLean Cougars had three individuals and a relay on the award stand this year and it was because of some "best efforts" from the Cougar athletes. "Going into the state meet we had some athletes ranked close to the top 10 in the state. The kids had to come up with their best efforts in order to have a chance to place," head coach Lee Weisgarber said. "The boys 4x100 relay ran their best time of the season to place 6th." The relay members were seniors Grant Singer, Devon Auck and brothers, a freshman Dylan Ruff and a junior Jacob Ruff. The head coach added, "Both seniors, Ben Duben and Singer, threw their best efforts in the discus to place fourth and fifth."
