Cougars ground the Skyhawks

The Central McLean Cougars rolled into Bismarck on a hot and muggy Tuesday night, looking to open the 9-man football season on a high note against the Shiloh Christian Skyhawks. At the end of the evening the only thing hotter than the weather was the cats’ ground attack, as the Cougars chewed up 352 yards on the ground on the way to a 48-14 Region 4 victory. The Cougars started off slow on their first possession turning the ball over to the Skyhawks, but their defense held and from there the rout was on, as Central McLean would score on their next five possessions. Aaron Morman would find pay dirt first for the cats as he scampered for a six-yard touchdown. Quarterback Matt Landenberger would connect with Jeremy Wirtz in the back of the end zone to complete the two-point conversion.
