Cougars come up just short

BY ETHYN WILLIAMSCALVERT
AND JAMES C. FALCON
Following a set of pool play that left them a top-ranking team, the Central McLean Cougars went on to take second place in the gold division at a volleyball tournament in Washburn last Saturday. The tournament, which started bright and early Saturday morning and ended
later that afternoon, pitted 16 teams from the county and region against each other. Pool play took place at both the Washburn and Wilton school gyms and, depending on the team’s overall performance, the teams moved on to the other school. While the consolation and bronze tournaments developed in Wilton, teams aimed to be the top in the silver and gold tournaments.
